FRAGMENTS OF ICE AGE ENVIRONMENTS The mastodon find from Kicar Vasja MIKU, Jernej PAVŠIČ
Abstract This contribution deals with the remains of a mastodon tusk from the species Anancus arvernensis (Croizet et Jobert, 1828). The remains were discovered in 1997 in the Early Villafranchian clastites in the broader area of Kicar near Ptuj. So far quite a few mastodon remains have been registered in this part of Slovenia.
