MANDRGA

At the end of the 2nd century BC and the beginning of the 1st century BC a small settlement or post stood at Mandrga, alongside the transport route that crossed the pass. The ceramic finds indicate that the site was settled by Italian newcomers. Judging from the fibulae it appears that they arrived from nearby, i.e. from the territory of Aquileia. The lack of local material indicates that the contacts with the immediate surroundings were limited.
