ZALOG NEAR VERD. Stone Age hunters' camp at the western edge of the Ljubljansko barje

Bird remains

Abstract

The archaeological site of Zalog near Verd yielded 38 bird bones, of which 31 were anatomically and systematically identifi ed. The habitats of the birds from the Zalog site include large still or slow fl owing waters, shallows with rich vegetation, wetlands with low-growing vegetation and vast marshy forests.
