RESNIKOV PREKOP. The oldest pile-dwelling settlement in the Ljubljansko barje Jernej PAVŠIČ Experiment in tracing the direction of benthal currents in the Ljubljansko barje Abstract Deposited pottery fragments were discovered in the archaeological sample trench at Resnikov prekop, which was excavated all to the bed of the former lake with pile-dwelling settlements. The idea arose that by transferring experience from palaeontological studies of biogenic fragments to pottery fragments, the direction and strength of water currents could thus be traced. Key words: Ljubljansko barje, Resnikov prekop, palaeontology, direction and strength of water current
