Past communities’ dependence of subsistence hunting oscillated in time as did the standard of animal keeping / husbandry. These oscillations can be traced by studying (both diachronically and synchronically) the quantitative and qualitative relationship between wild and domestic animal remnants. Estimating the standard of animal keeping is an even more complex task. Data on animal stature, sex- and age-structure, pathologies and body-part representation are of special importance in this work. |
